Helena Youth Soccer Association

About Our Programs

Welcome to the Helena Youth Soccer Association, the Helena area’s only multi-tiered soccer organization. We offer three levels of play for children in grades Pre-K - 12 starting with Micro and Recreational, and peaking with Arsenal. HYSA players have gone on to play at  very high levels of the game, winning championships, MVPs, and playing at the collegiate level. More importantly, HYSA players have gone on to win many awards in the areas of sportsmanship, community service, and academics. While HYSA encourages success on the field, our core value is instilling characteristics that will make for successful contributors to society. Soccer is the tool we choose to teach these principles.

About: Arsenal is HYSA’s most competitive level of participation. While it is a lot of fun, it is also a significant time and financial commitment. Players attend tryouts prior to the season and are placed on teams accordingly (U12 teams are split evenly). Teams are led by experienced, United States Youth Soccer licensed coaches and practice a minimum of 2 times per week, typically starting as early as January with indoor practices (or outdoor if weather permits). Teams play most Saturdays from April through mid-June and typically attend at least 2 overnight tournaments (U12 teams typically attend 1 overnight tournament). Players should aspire to increase their technical and tactical abilities and prepare to play at a higher level of competition. New Arsenal players have usually completed at least 2 seasons of Academy or other higher-level soccer.
